Addictions Psychiatrist Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Hamilton, Ontario and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) are seeking an academic psychiatrist with experience and training in addictions to play a leading role in the recently established Comprehensive Concurrent Disorder Service and to build an academic program linked to this service.
The successful candidate will take on a leadership role in the concurrent disorders program that will include: service development; provision of clinical care; consultation to other parts of the system; undergraduate and postgraduate education, and research. Specific responsibilities will include: providing medical leadership to a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient concurrent disorders program; providing clinical care and training to other health professionals; leading the development of a teaching and research program within the program; providing consultation to other services at SJHH and within the community, and collaborating with the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research, a cutting-edge research centre located at St. Joseph’s West 5th campus.
The appointee will hold an academic appointment in McMaster University’s Faculty of Health Sciences at an academic rank appropriate to their credentials and experience. Remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank and the position’s duties and responsibilities.
Applicants must be licensed or eligible to attain licensure in the Province of Ontario and hold a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada specialty certification in Psychiatry or an equivalent designation.
