McMaster Psychiatry Leadership Skills Development Program

Date: Apr 9, 2021 Times: 09:00 - 12:00

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2020-2021 McMaster Psychiatry Leadership Skills Development Program. This will be the 6th year of our redesigned leadership development curriculum, which includes a broad exposure to leadership principles and practices that extend outside academic medicine. We would invite you to consider participating.

What is the McMaster Psychiatry Leadership Skills Development Program?

The program includes: a) a series of bimonthly half-day workshops facilitated by distinguished leaders from business and industry, high-performance athletes, and health care organizations; b) meetings of facilitated Communities of Practice (CoPs) that allow for in-depth and candid discussion of leadership challenges and other professional issues; and c) assessments of leadership skills and areas for improvement. In previous years, participants have felt that the program enabled them to increase their skills and confidence in leadership roles and we are confident that this year will be no exception.

Who is the program suitable for?

The program is ideally suited for faculty or senior residents (PGY 4-5) in the Department who are currently or will be in the near future playing a leadership role within a team, program or organization. Interested individuals who do not have an identified leadership role are also encouraged to apply. New faculty members in the Department are strongly encouraged to participate in the program.

When does the program run and what is the commitment?

January 8, 2021

February 5, 2021

March 5, 2021

April 9, 2021
