Dr. DeBono received his doctoral degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University after completing his pre-doctoral internship at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. DeBono also received his MBA from Cornell University and Queen's University, graduating with disctinction amongst the top 10% of his cohort. Dr. DeBono is an Assistant Professor (Part-Time) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and is Chief of Interprofessional Practice at Hamilton Health Sciences. Dr. DeBono’s clinical interests consist of the assessment and treatment of emotion dysregulation, chronic suicidality, and emerging Borderline Personality Disorder in youth. He is a Co-Investigator on an HHS HPI grant examining usage patterns of mental health services in youth across the spectrum of care (i.e. ER, inpatient, outpatient, outreach, etc.). Dr. DeBono has served as the HHS Psychology Practice Chair, the HHS Clinical Ethics Committee Co-Chair, and on a number of other committees, leveraging his thought leadership.
