I have completed residencies in family medicine and psychiatry. Over my career, I have focused on work at the interface of family medicine and psychiatry, both educationally and clinically. My outpatient psychiatry practice focuses on liaising with primary care physicians in the “shared care” model.  For a number of years, I have taught courses in behavioural sciences to family medicine residents and to family doctors in the community.  I have lectured nationally and internationally on this topic. I also work at an outpatient adult psychiatric clinic. I am a past Chair of the Council of Psychiatric Continuing Education (COPCE), which is affiliated with the Canadian Psychiatric Association. I am currently the Ontario representative on the Canadian Psychiatric Association Education Committee. I am currently a Council Member for the Ontario Psychiatric Association. I have also co-edited a book called ”Psychiatry in Primary Care, a concise Canadian pocket guide”. I was made a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 2013. I was made a distinguished fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association in 2014.
