Dr. Eppel underwent his medical training in his native Ireland and then immigrated to Canada where he completed the psychiatry residency program at McMaster.

His clinical and teaching activities are focused on promoting an integrated psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic approach to patients. This includes the application of attachment theory and affective neuroscience.
