Bio

Currently, Adele Wolpert works as a Mental Health Therapist in a Family Health Team in Hamilton, as well as conducting a private practice. She serves as Chair of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in the Clinical Behavioural Sciences Program, and is the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Module Coordinator in the Postgrad Psychotherapy Program. Adele is also a Longitudinal Facilitator in the Professional Competencies Program for Undergraduate Medical Students .

Ms. Wolpert received her B.S.W. (Honours) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and completed her M.S.W. degree at Wilfrid Laurier in Waterloo. Adele is interested in a broad range of mental health issues, emotional problems and interpersonal difficulties. She has a strong commitment to making psychodynamic psychotherapy accessible and useful to psychiatric residents. Adele believes that knowledge and awareness of psychodynamic concepts can deepen students' understanding of their patients' suffering and of the complex interaction between patient and care-giver. This could improve the quality of care being provided, whether in an emergency room or in a psychiatric setting. Adele is experienced in treating personality disorders and currently runs a DBT coping skills group through the Hamilton Family Health Team.
